The Lake of Fire

The words from John in Revelation were meant to not only foretell future events, but warn and upbraid us to keep out eyes open and to be in control on our own choices—-not blind or being lead around like like a pig with a ring in it’s nose. Are we living like citizens of God’s Kingdom or those outside the Kingdom?   Here’s what Jesus said in the last chapter:   “He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.  Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their...

The Real Church....

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25, NIV   We’re all in this building that we call a church, but it’s really just four walls and a roof. A church is the body of believers—-that invisible union of Protestants, Catholics and Orthodox Christians that have professed Jesus Christ as the Son of God, confessed and repented of their sins, and accepted Jesus as Lord of their redeemed lives.   But we use the word church to refer to this gathering of believers...

The last good king.....

“Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem thirty-one years. 2 He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord and followed the ways of his father David, not turning aside to the right or to the left. 3 In the eighth year of his reign, while he was still young, he began to seek the God of his father David. In his twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem of high places, Asherah poles and idols. 4 Under his direction the altars of the Baals were torn down; he cut to pieces the incense altars that were above them, and smashed the Asherah poles and the idols. These he broke to pieces...

Sundays are inevitable....

Sundays are inevitable….that’s the word I received from the Lord this past week about 3:00 a.m. What does it mean?  The resurrection of Jesus was foretold and promised——once God said that it would happen, it was inevitable that it was going to happen. NO ONE  could stop it.  It broke the laws of science and medicine and turned the world upside down! But once God gives His word—-the matter is sealed.   On Sunday God did what could not be done—-He raised a man from the dead —after that same man, Jesus,  had prophesied that it would happen.  NOTHING can stop something that God purposes and plans to do. No matter how absurd or impossible it sounds to our mortal...

Are we a Christian nation?

Do you think tbat America still a Christian nation, and do you think that it ever really was a Christian nation?  Well,  many folks would admit that America is still a "Christian nation," if the term simply means a majority of the population who claim to be Christians.  But, a recent Pew Research report shows a decline of Christianity in the United States at a rapid pace.  Only 65 percent of Americans now say they're Christians, down from 78 percent as recently as 2007.  If this rate of change continues, the U.S. Christians will be less than 50% by 2035, with the ones acknowledging no religion representing well over one third of the population.   Smaller details from the study...
