Proverbs 16:9 “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps”.
We are humans, living in a hostile world where all that surrounds us works to destroy us—bacteria, inclement weather, disease and decay. Friends: we should make plans! There’s nothing wrong with laying out your your day, week, year, life—-and much wrong in not doing it.
But God “establishes” or provides the right stones and stepping blocks for our progress. Do I believe that and do I live and work and pray with this truth in my mind? I have a goal in my mind of what I am supposed to do-that’s good! But am I believing and trusting that He will steady me, hold my hand, open my eyes to the best path and correct stones to step upon?
When things get tough this summer and I want to give up, I must remember……… God allows the right things to happen to bring my plans to completion.
Proverbs 16:3. Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.
Have I committed what I am doing to HIM?
My church is looking for our pastor; have we already determined the kind of pastor we must have?
Our staff has expended great efforts in ministry here this summer; are we trusting Him to give to show us the steps and directions we should take?
This camp has blessed thousands for 35 years, but as we continue, is our vision and dream and hopes, holy and pure and are we believing that He will bring our efforts to completion?
What about our individual plans for a spouse, family, career? These are all noble, human aspirations—-and God has established these yearnings in our heart. But are we surrendering the manner, time and path to Him—-while we continue to study, prepare, date and fall in love?
